Livelihood awareness drive in Nadupathy Tribal settlement
As part of Oleevia Foundation’s flagship tribal development initiative Project Aadi, and guidance from our CMD, Shri Krishnakumar K T a focused awareness session was conducted at Nadupathy tribal settlement in Walayar, Palakkad. The session aimed to educate the tribal community about sustainable livelihood opportunities and key government welfare schemes they can access for socio-economic upliftment.
The visit was facilitated by Project Coordinator Ms. Sreeja and Project Assistant Ms. Neethu, who engaged with tribal youth, women, and elders. Using simple and culturally-sensitive communication, they explained various central and state government schemes related to employment, entrepreneurship, skill training, agriculture, and tribal welfare. The session sparked meaningful discussions on untapped livelihood potentials and rights-based entitlements. Community members showed keen interest in schemes such as Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana, skill development missions, and forest-based income generation.
This awareness session marked a pivotal step in bridging the information gap that often isolates tribal communities from accessing critical government benefits. Moving forward, Project Aadi will ensure continued engagement through follow-up visits, personalized support for scheme applications, and facilitation of livelihood activities suited to the local context. The community’s positive response and active participation reaffirm Oleevia Foundation’s belief that empowerment begins with awareness. We remain dedicated to building resilient tribal communities rooted in dignity, self-sufficiency, and long-term development.
