Empowering minds, Protecting Futures : An awareness session at St. Ann’s Senior secondary school, Muttikulangara

The Oleevia Foundation, under visionary guidance from our CMD, Krishnakumar K T, kickstarted a transformative series of child safety sessions at St.Ann's Senior Secondary School under Project Sashakt Bachpan. These interactive sessions were specially designed for students from Grades 3 to 11, focusing on themes like body safety, boundaries, respect, and digital awareness—essential for their age and experiences. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from students.
The youngest learners were introduced to the concept of body autonomy through the engaging session, "My Body Is Mine: Understanding Safe & Unsafe Touch." Children explored the difference between safe and unsafe touches, trusted adults, and the “No-Go-Tell” safety rule using real-life scenarios and animated storytelling, making this sensitive topic both age-appropriate and memorable.
Grades 6 and 7 delved deeper into the importance of setting personal boundaries through the session titled, "Boundaries Matter: Growing Up with Respect and Safety." Students explored real-life stories, learned to express discomfort assertively, and practiced saying "No" respectfully through interactive skits and roleplays—helping them navigate their growing world with confidence and safety. The Grade 8 session, “Respect, Consent & Staying Safe – Offline and Online,” blended real-life stories with practical insights on respecting others’ personal space—both in person and online. Students reflected on scenarios involving peer pressure, friendships, and online messaging, and learned to identify red flags and navigate their digital lives responsibly. In the eye-opening session, “Healthy Choices:Understanding Relationships, Consent & Online Dangers,” Grade 9 students explored themes of emotional safety, consent, trust, and setting healthy boundaries. With relatable discussions around toxic vs healthy friendships and love, and guidance on navigating social media pitfalls, students left feeling more empowered.Grade 11 participated in “Empowered & Aware:Navigating Relationships & Digital Life,” a thought-provoking session that covered complex teenage challenges—digital consent, respectful dating, boundary-setting, and the value of saying “No.” With emotional maturity and peer influence in focus, students reflected deeply on their roles in creating safer spaces, both online and offline.
Every session ended with a brief but vital segment on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Students learned about their legal rights, what constitutes abuse, how to report it, and the responsibilities of adults under the Act. This added a powerful legal awareness layer to the emotional and social lessons discussed. This campaign marks a proud milestone in Oleevia Foundation’s mission to build safer communities through education. The sessions were well-received by students, teachers, and parents alike. With more schools expressing interest, we continue to move ahead with our vision—empowering every child to grow up informed, safe, and respected.
