Oleevia Foundation Karshaka Prathibha Puraskaram (Agro Awards) 2023-24

The Oleevia Foundation proudly marked the culmination of the Karshaka Prathibha Puraskaram (Agro Awards) 2023-24 with a grand ceremony held at Hyatt Regency, Thrissur, on November 30, 2024. This prestigious event aimed to recognize and celebrate the remarkable contributions of farmers, agricultural innovators, and allied communities who play a pivotal role in nurturing the backbone of our nation. The awards were inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. C V Ananda Bose, Honorable Governor of West Bengal, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed the awards to the deserving recipients.

The awards were presented across 11 categories, each highlighting the diverse talents and innovations in the agricultural sector. Among the laureates, Shri. Lali Salim was honored as the Best Dairy Farmer, while Shri. Soumya Biju received the Best Woman Farmer award. The title of Best Young Farmer went to Shri. Tom Kiran, and the Best Organic Farmer was Shri. Salim Kattakath. Other notable recipients included Shri. Rajesh K C (Best Vegetable Farmer), Kissan Service Society Thrissur (Best Farmer Group), and Navakodu Padashekhara Samithy Koduvayoor (Best Padashekhara Samithi). Special recognition was also given to Shri. Sankaranarayanan K.K for his contributions as a Senior Integrated Farmer, Shri. Varsha Nandhini for Best LGBTQ Farmer, Shri. Benjamin Bastin for Best Fisherman, and Shri. Adith V N for Best Student Farmer. These awards underscore Oleevia Foundation's commitment to fostering inclusive and sustainable agricultural practices across all demographics.

The event was presided over by Mr. Krishnakumar K T, Managing Director of Oleevia Foundation and CMD of Oleevia Group of Companies. In his address, he highlighted the critical role of farmers in building a sustainable future and emphasized the importance of recognizing their relentless efforts. Padma Shri Cheruvayal Raman, a revered tribal farmer and conservationist, inspired the audience with his insights on the symbiotic relationship between tradition and innovation in agriculture. The ceremony also witnessed the presence of eminent personalities, including Mr. K Paul Thomas, MD of ESAF Small Finance Bank; Mr. V R Raveendranath, former CGM of NABARD; and Mr. Ajitkumar Varma, CEO of Oleevia Foundation. Their participation underscored the collective efforts needed to uplift the agricultural sector and support farmers in their journey toward resilience and self-reliance.
